My name is Michelle Baert – a proud Beaubien mom with two young boys attending our school. In addition to being a mom, I serve on the Board of Directors for Variety – The Children’s Charity (www.VarietyofIllinois.org), where I currently serve as the Chairman. Through my work at Variety, I lead efforts and partnerships that assist children with physical disabilities and their families throughout the Chicagoland area. I’m honored to be part of an organization that has made an immediate impact for kids who otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity to own a mobility device, such as a sports wheelchair, because of challenging financial circumstances.
I enjoy working with our school community – volunteering as co-chair to the Walk-a-Thon and volunteering on the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
Especially during tough economic times, I understand the importance of maintaining tight budgets while making sure that we offer high quality services to the people our mission embraces. With the support of the Jean Baptiste Beaubien Elementary School Community, I wish to bring my experience and leadership to the Local School Board.
With your support, you can count on me to make sound decisions based on my belief that we must have more parental involvement in our school and that all of our school’s programs create an environment that prepares our children to be competitive in a global economy.
